The media business has been in Steve Tegeder's blood ever since he was 10 years old and broadcast a low watt FM radio signal for his neighborhood friends to tune in and listen to. Little did he know this would start his passion for a lifetime in the media business.
Steve began his professional career with a variety of media positions working for WBZZ radio in Pittsburgh, WSTM-TV in Syracuse, NY and advertising sales for ABC-TV in Madison, WI.
Steve Tegeder was hired by Viacom's MTV Networks when was just 26 years old and eventually became a Senior Vice President of National Advertising and Marketing. In his role for the MTV Networks, Steve held a senior management position and helped guide them into a $1 billion revenue source for Viacom.
During his 15 years with Viacom's MTV Networks he was instrumental in the development and success of the cable and online properties MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1 Classic, CMT, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TV Land and Spike TV. In this position he developed key selling strategies, brand development and some of MTV Networks first ever digital marketing platforms.
Steve created numerous innovations for the MTV Networks including the first ever live TV commercial during the MTV Video Music Awards, the music showcase Crossroads on CMT, a reality TV series called Fast Enuff (which served as a blueprint for the future of integrated advertising) and created a major cross platform partnership between Ford and Nickelodeon to promote safety to kids. He also developed an innovative campaign for Nickelodeon’s first theatrical movie The Rugrats Movie which included $80 million dollars in cross promotion with Ford's advertising.
After leaving MTVN, Steve became President of Covenant Corporation in Vancouver, Canada. With Covenant Corporation he helped develop digital technology to stem the piracy of digital music and entertainment on the internet.
Steve also founded Immersion Media which is a new media company that specializes in creating and selling digital media platforms for traditional media outlets. Immersion Media developed the first ever digital advertising video sales platform for the CBS Radio Stations. It is also with Immersion Media where Steve developed the digital platform YouRtheTube.com as an integrated television and online digital game show.
Steve has also provided his marketing skills to benefit the Honda Motor Corporation in rolling out their autonomous technology being used in the Honda self-driving vehicle program.
Most recently, Steve Tegeder has started Swypn Media in Chicago. Swypn Media is a digital media company focused on developing new mobile technologies to assist the marketing efforts in today's competitive business environment.
As a result of his successes Steve has been interviewed and featured on national television programs, the media trade journals of Advertising Age, Brand Week and USA Today.
